Fat Tire Trail Report
March 17th, 2014 by Tyler in EverythingDate: Sunday March 16, 2014
Location: Dufferin Forest
This past Sunday, Tyler and Johnny hit the trails out in Dufferin forest, and they were in absolute perfect condition. The last few days of warm then cold temperatures made the trails nicely hard packed and had the feel of riding normal singletrack in the summer… just with white soil…..
We stayed mainly on the snowshoe trails as they were the most fun. The trails were packed enough that a skinny tired bike could ride on them for sure… That gives us a sign, we are getting closer to the time where the trail reports go from Fat Tire to Skinny Tire!!! Still a lot of snow in the forest to melt away, but we had a glimmer of hope.
We even found a small section of dirt!!!! It was such a nice sight to see!!! Our ride was a little shortened due to time, but we still ended up riding 12km, in around an hour and change… All in all a great ride. The weather was a little cold, but we stayed out of the wind, so it made a huge difference. On the trail we did end up meeting a couple people who hopefully will be joining us on our fat tire rides soon!
Ride Rating: 4.5 out of 5
