Wednesday Trail Report….Cold weather advisory??
-20 degree temps couldn’t keep a few of us away!
Mark, Johnny, Ryan, Dan and Max hit the trails on a variety of apparatus…2 Fat Bikes (Johnny & Mark), snowshoes (Ryan), skis (Dan) and on foot (Max).
We bundled up for the start of the trail and after 3-4km we all admitted that we were overdressed and removed some layers! Dan headed out and skied a loop on his own with Mark and Johnny riding the “stick” of the single track and Ryan acting as our “groomer”. We covered 8km and the trail was 90% rideable. A lot of the ride we were making fresh tracks in about 4 inches of fresh powder snow with a solid base underneath. It actually turned out to be great night in the forest with all the trees being dusted with fresh snow…a winter wonderland. Everyone converged at the parking lot within minutes of each other and we all enjoyed a “recovery” drink.
I think this s a new record low temp ride!
