Team Van Go – Trail Cleanup
June 16th, 2015 by Tyler in EverythingHi All,
This past Sunday, we had an amazing turnout of folks to help clean up some trails that were damaged during the recent logging in Dufferin Forest. The day called for rain, and it did not disappoint, but under the canopy of the trees it was much more bearable for sure.
All in all, we had 19 people show up for about 3-4 hours of trail cleanup/maintenance.

We had several chainsaws running as well as leaf blowers, rakers and general cleanup folks. I must say many hands make light work is a saying that is so true. Within the first hour both the lollipop and trail to nowhere where all but done.
With all the new downfall from the logging, this gave us the opportunity to use some of these new treasures and create some new natural features to ride over. For anyone concerned with the flow of the trail, don’t worry, they have been situated along the trail, so you would have to go out of your way to try these new obstacles.

At around noon we decided to take a lunch break. Sandwhiches were provided by Team Van Go, and made up by the Rosemont General Store. They were delicious and a huge hit yet again! if you enjoy fresh sandwiches, definitely make the trip to Rosemont. The do all kinds of great things there, and every morning they serve a delicious breakfast.
Some photos from Bernie.
At the end of the it was an amazing day, great to see so many people come out and help. Dont fret if you missed this event, there will be another one in the coming weeks, as the loggers will be doing another section of forest.
