Fat Tire Trail Report
March 24th, 2014 by Tyler in EverythingDate: Saturday March 29th, 2014
Location: Mono Cliffs Provincial Park
Tyler, Johnny and Max did the tour at the park this past weekend, after our nice little snowfall that we received overnight. This snowfall plus the lack of hikers/snowshoers equaled our worst fat bike ride of the year… we did still cover just over 8km in 1.5hours,so that should tell you the speed that we were going.
We started the ride at Mono Pub, which is a great place to start!!! I recommend it… we tried to ride the upper loop, which was doable in parts. It was a great day to take the bike for a walk too… We did have fun still and Max was a little bored at our pace… We finished the climb decided to hike down the cliff back to the field and ride where there was hopefully more people traffic. This was good for a while, and we could actually get up to some speed….
All in all we did have fun, and we finished the ride at the Pub. Went inside had a pint before leaving, and had a lot of people comment on either how crazy we are to be riding, or didn’t believe us that we were out on bikes… This always makes it better!
One note for every rider, start getting your bikes ready for the spring, it will sneak up to you fast and you don’t want to be scrambling last minute for parts etc.
Ride Rating: 2 our of 5

(Yes the Skinny Tire rating begins, looking at the long range forecast it is going to warm up!!!!)
